Rodeo Queen

Okay, this is the funniest photo E V E R of Sarah! Reliant Energy had a booth set up and they took pictures for free and we got to pick the background! This is too funny! I love the bows! haha

She was sooooooooooo tired at this point that she was making kind of a sad face but it looked like she was serious about roping these bulls! If you click on it, you can make it bigger and see her face! :)

Great picture!

Great Checkup!

Well, Sarah's appointment with Dr. Cardiology went great today!  He said she looked great and he was very pleased with her ecocardiogram, chest x-rays and other tests they ran.  We are looking at having her next and last 2 surgeries between the age of five and six years old!  We still have quite a bit.  We go for checkups every six months at TCH.  We have had a great time in Houston!  Robyn took us to the Galleria this evening and bought Sarah some DARLING clothes!  I will certainly be posting photos of that when she wears them! haha

I have a few pics from the hospital and dr.'s visit that I will post tomorrow night when we get home.  They are on my camera and I can't load them on Robyn's computer.

Love to all and praise God for a great checkup!  We have truly been blessed.

Sharon

Like a Rhinestone Cowgirl....

Sarah's First Roller Coaster Ride...Kiddie Style, ONLY, please! haha

Sarah sees all that there is to do!

Looking over Houston!

Sarah & Robyn in front of the Ferris Wheel after we all rode it!

Sarah during the the National Anthem and Fireworks! Precious!

Popcorn, anyone? She didn't like the cotton candy! Wierd! She hated it! haha

Well, we are in Houston at my friends' home, Robyn & Michael for Sarah's Cardiology appointment which is this afternoon. It took me nearly 6 hours to get here with Sarah yesterday, but we finally made it. We took our time and stopped quite a bit but we had a great trip. Sarah was EXCELLENT in the back seat and I actually got bored on the way because she was completely entertaining herself and didn't need me! haha

When we arrived, we hung out for a bit and then Michael's dad had given us 4 box seat tickets to the Houston Rodeo! We had a BLAST! Sarah LOVED it! She was so cute and filled with complete amazement and wonder. Just watching her take it all in would almost bring tears to my eyes. Seeing life through her eyes is the best part of being her mommy. I remember Jason being that age and everything was amazing and marvelous to him and I see it again in Sarah. It's great!

I am posting some photos of our Rodeo Night! Sorry we didn't have on cowgirl clothes, but we did it on a "Spur" of the moment type thing! haha Get it? Spur? Rodeo? Okay...nevermind.

Sarah & Robyn & I all took photos in Sarah's new pink sequin funky hat! Can you tell which one is the child in these photos? It's really a tossup! haha

This morning, Robyn & Michael made us the best breakfast! We had scrambled eggs, toast, bacon, fruit, you name it...we had it! haha AND...Michael made me & Robyn a Latte! It was great! And pretty!

I will post tonight after her dr.'s appointment to let you all know how it went!

Love ya! Sharon

Hello, All...

Just in case you are wondering if the snow did us in..........we're still here. Things have been kind of busy since the big snow!

Tomorrow (or should I say today since it is well after midnight and I'm still up! YIKES!) Sarah and I will be leaving for Houston for her regularly scheduled cardiology check-up. She has to have her ecocardiogram and chest x-rays, etc. We go about every 6 months and it's that time again. She is excited about our trip. She can't believe just her and mommy are going on "vacation". We are staying with one of my best friends, Robyn while we are there. We are going to go to the Houston Children's Museum, too! I will be sure to take lots of pictures and post when we return.

We will not be home until Friday afternoon. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers for traveling safety and a great check-up for Sarah!

I am also posting some pics I took of the kids Sunday after church!

Love to all!

Sharon

It's Nice to Snow Ya!

Okay, I stole that line from one of my friends from something she sent me this week, but I thought it was cute! "Nice to snow ya!" ahaha Get it?

These are the pics I took of the snow-family we built today. Look like anyone you know? We had so much fun and our friends, Dena & Kerstyn came over and played and helped us make snowmen (and snowgirls). It was a great day but the sun is quickly melting the white snow away. :(

After making the family, we came inside for leftover lasagna and for dessert, we got a huge bowl of snow and made "maple candy" with syrup and snow. The kids loved it but I thought it was rather gross! haha I took a picture of it but it looked like "yellow snow" and so I am not posting it! haha

Enjoy the family portraits and have a great day! Sharon

Jason looked really mad in this photo, but he wasn't.....it was so bright outside that we could hardly see!

Funny things Sarah said...

Last night, Sarah & I climbed in her bed an read a bunch of books with the blinds open so we could see the snow outside. It was like a fairytale! She loved it and so did I. I have a book I wrote for her before she was born and it has pictures of her nursery, baby shower, etc. It's kind of like a baby book, but I made it like a book about a fairy princess. She thought that was so cool! She kept saying "I had a PRINCESS bed!" "I was a VERY Princess!" It was adorable.

Before that, we were in the living room and she ran in the bathroom and just flushed the potty for no reason. I think she was trying to fake me out about going potty. Todd said "AHA! That's why the water bill went up last month! SOMEONE likes to see the water go down the hole!" I kind of laughed and told him to get used to it because she is destined to cost him some money! Sarah said "I'm gonna cost you MONEY daddy!" She's got that one right! haha She's been costing money since the day she got here. I guess that's why all the hugs and kisses we get are "Priceless"....because we couldn't possibly add up how much they actually cost us in the long run...but they are certainly worth whatever price we must pay!

Enjoy your day! Sharon

NO SCHOOL TODAY! YEA!

Finally, at 6:30...........they announced.............NOOOOOOOOOO SCHOOOOOOOOOL!!!!!!!!

I went in Jason's room and whispered to him that he could stay in bed because there was NO school and he whispered "yeaaaaa" and then rolled over under his covers and buried his head in the pillows! I remember being little and hearing there was no school and LOVING it. That feeling of excitement and sleepiness all at the same time. haha I was just going to go back to bed, but I wanted him to have that moment to say "yeaaaa" and that good feeling of staying in the bed and knowing you just got a 3 day weekend!

Last night, I made homemade hot cocoa for everyone. I made a little design on the tops of them. It's not Van Gogh or anything, but it's something! haha I know it looks like a spider web. That was not my intention..........I was just playing with it trying to get some sort of design.

Think we'll have to have more of these today! :) Yummmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yea! I forgot to mention that last night, my friend, Shanna emailed me and told me to send some of the pictures of the snow to KTRE news in Lufkin. I did and they put our photos on the news and on their weather blog. I was so excited. My mother in law called and said "You guys made the news!" Pretty cool, I thought!

Hope you all have a great morning and I'll post more snow pics later today!

Love, Sharon

School or No School? THAT is the question...

Well, it's nearly 6:20 a.m. and our school system has STILL not posted whether or not we have school. We are the only school district that hasn't reported to the radio and t.v. stations.

I am waiting to see what to do because there are some schools around with school and some that aren't. I think that it is kind of ridiculous to not make a decision and let parents know by 6:20 a.m. how to plan their day. Us, it won't affect TOO much accept that if there's school, Todd will have to come take Jason to school and if there's not, me and the kids can sleep late. But some parents and teachers probably need to know by now what they are doing to get it planned out. Some parents have to work regardless and are still waiting to know what they need to do for their kiddos if there is no school.

Oh, well......................nothing really worth blogging, but I was bored waiting and thought I would post an update.

Also, at 3:30 this morning our power went out briefly and then came back on! Whew! A sigh of relief. I was NOT looking forward to that. I need ELECTRICITY! haha

Snow What Fun!

These are the 4:30 pictures. We went out and PLAYED and had a blast! Sarah had a bit of a time walking in the snow since it was to her knees but she still had a ton of fun. This is a picture of me I had from when I was little and thought it was cute that I got the same one of Sarah. My dad should LOVE this! Have a great night no matter where you are and stay warm.......or cool........whatever the weather calls for! :) Sharon

This tree is bending with the snow.

I absolutely LOVE these pics of the kids! They were having so much fun!

Sarah ate more snow than she threw! haha
I took this one from inside the kitchen!

Cypress Grove Road ......... How beautiful!

This is how deep it is in the yard! This is a picture of my feet in the snow.

3:30 p.m.

Okay, did I say "BLIZZARD"?!?!?!?!?!

I mean, my goodness! This is NUTS for MARCH! Wow! Oh, well, still not as weird as snowing on Easter last year.

Here's the 3:30 update. Sorry, I missed 2:30.........I was uploading the 1:30 pics at 2:30 and I took time off for a snowball fight! haha

I have been taking this same photo from the same spot every little while. You can really see the difference! Still white! haha

Starting to get a little accumulation...

Okay, this is Todd being fed up that the satellite is showing no signal! hahaha He is determined to get a signal! So, he gets the waterhose and sprays the snow off the satellite! That's ingenuity at it's best! haha But, I can't make fun....it worked! Yea! We're back in business....for a little bit!
