My New Car........compliments of Todd's photography!

Todd took Jason & Anna's little boy, Nicholas to Lake Texoma this afternoon to photograph the new car. We aren't sure, but it looks like we could have another Bo & Luke Duke on our hands in a silver charger......by the time their old enough to drive, this Dodge Charger will be old enough for them to run down the dirt roads and jump the pond! Now, all they need are some "01" decals!!! BUT, aren't they just the cutest "Good Ol' Boys" ever!? We think so!

Todd Surprised ME!

Tonight, Todd surprised me like never before for my birthday. He had told me earlier that the car deal would get done tomorrow because they had to go and get the car and no drivers could get it until Thursday.

He said we had to go tonight, sign the paperwork and take the Jeep and drop it off for them tonight and they would give us a loaner until tomorrow when mine comes in.
When we got there, we waited about 10 minutes in the sales office because the finance office was "getting our paperwork ready". The salesman told Todd that some guy in the back was starting his own business and needed to rent a lift from him for work, so he went to talk to him.

When he came back, he and the salesman said that the Finance Dept. was ready for us. It is across the parking lot so we walked outside and the entire sales and management team was standing around a silver Dodge Charger with about 20 huge balloons tied to it!!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe he surprised me like that! They all yelled "Happy Birthday!" and I ran and jumped in the car! It was just like being on Wheel of Fortune or something!!!!!!!!

Then, I got out an hugged Todd! I was so surprised. That was so nice of Todd! I had a really great birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Well, today is my 32nd birthday! ICK! haha I know, I know......still "young".
That's what I've heard.....still young. I'll go for that!

It's been a great day so far. I woke up and Todd immediately wished me Happy Birthday this morning, then Sarah, then Jason. Sweeties! Me and the kids ate breakfast with our "birthday music" going just like we do for their birthdays. They get so excited about any birthday......even mine!

Then, when taking Jsaon to school, I realized I left his homework from MONDAY night on the bar........AGAIN. He didn't take it yesterday, either. SO, I told him I would bring it to the school later. I called his teacher a bit later and told her to believe him when he said it was his mom's fault! She said that he told her "My mom forgot my homework AGAIN. Today is her birthday and I think she's getting too old to remember stuff!" She said it was hilarious! I thought so, too! He is so funny!

Then, when we came home, Sarah and I were laying on the sofa watching cartoons and she went and got her tiara & wand and put them on me and said "Mommy the berry princess" instead of "fairy" princess! SO sweet.

I got a cookie bouquet delivered from my sister in law & husband and niece and calls from everyone! Friends who I didn't even realize would KNOW today was my birthday even called with great wishes.

Tonight, the kids are going to church with some friends and Todd is taking me out to eat. I don't know where we'll go, but I can't wait! We haven't had a "date night" since August! AND, he is buying me a new car for my birthday. It's not here today, but it will be tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to get it!!!!!! It's a silver Dodge Charger! I'll post pics of it as soon as I get it!

Love to you all!

Sarah's New Doctor!

We got to go to our new pediatrician's office today for the first time! (We've been since we've moved, but we always were in Lufkin and just went to our old one.) This was our first time to go to this office in Sherman! IT was so great. Sarah LOVED her doctor. She was super nice. She even gave Sarah a sucker and a Dora sticker when her appointment was over. Sarah was especially excited because we got to go to the room with the Hot air balloons, which she LOVES! She LOVES hot air balloons for some reason.

Our new doctor was awesome and Sarah actually had fun at the dr.s office! haha
Oh yea...she does have a REALLY bad ear infection! But we got a prescription for that!

See you all later!

Sarah's Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

Today, Sarah & I went for our first trip to the "Mommy & Me" playgroup! We met at the pumpkin patch in Gainesville about 25 miles from us. We had the best time. She got to play with lots of other little children her age and had a blast. I literally think that today was probably the most fun she's ever had on any day of her life! She rode the barrel cow train, climbed and conquered the 16 foot super slide, went through a hay bail maze, jumped on a rope and swung across "the ditch", rode on the zip line, went through the pumpkin patch, went on a hayride across a pasture full of donkeys and cows and even got to hand feed a real cow! She had a BLAST! And of course, I did too...just watching her see all of this and get so excited took me back again to when Jason was this age. THE BEST AGE!!!!! Everything is new and exciting. Every day, something new....something to be excited about! Something to call and tell her family on the phone and let them know what she did that day! I see her learning to see everything as she sees it for the first time. Learning not to be scared of an animal that is at least 50 times your size and could chomp your hand.....but feeding it and not knowing the difference. Climbing to the top of a ladder that seems to reach into the sky and not really knowing what's going to happen when she gets to the top; then seeing it only leads back to the ground and taking off and laughing all the way knowing she can just climb the slide again. How she can just jump on and grab a rope and hang on and swing with the wind. No matter where it goes, she's gonna hang on as tight as she can!

I see her and I think about how I should learn from her. How she believes that if mommy's head hurts, she can wave a sonic straw in the air while she's dressed in her tinkerbell dress and high heel shoes and I will feel "all better" because she is my fairy princess and she waved her wand at me and made me a "wish".

How if she thinks it to be true...it is. Nothing to be afraid of. No judgement of anyone. She will play with and laugh with whoever she meets.

After we returned to Sherman, we had a little time to kill and we went into a few stores. At one, there was an older man in front of us a bit and she just kept staring at him. She had seen him as we were walking around the store. I had seen him go into the restroom and then continue his shopping. He was a scraggly looking old man who looked like he could have been homeless or something like it. He was about 3 people ahead of us in the line. After he finished paying for his things...he turned around and saw Sarah staring at him. She waved. He walked over to her and told her how pretty she was and that she was a good little girl. She commenced into telling him ALLLLLLL about the pumpkin patch. Her eyes lit up like diamonds as she told him every single detail. And he stood and listened and smiled and talked to her. She had made a new friend. A friend that I probably wouldn't have "waved" at. I thought about how she made this man's day and probably made him feel so good and how it would have gone if she'd buried her head in my shirt when he smiled at her. How he may not have gotten to hear about the pumpkin patch or how much fun she had.

To wrap up the conversation........she asked him if he went to the POTTY! haha He was a bit hard of hearing......THANK GOD......and he said "Did you go to the Party?" He told her goodbye and left.

Sarah just looked at me and said "He DID go to the potty like a BIG BOY!" I laughed at her innocence. Her smile. Her excitement. So unaware of any barriers that people have between them. I learned from her today. Shouldn't we all strive to be a little more like that?

No walls....no pretences.........nothing......just a smile, a wave and a kind word!

Hope you all have a great day and enjoy the photos!

Halloween Week!

Hey, Everyone!

Yesterday, we went to the Fall Festival at Jason's school! The kids loved it! They got to go on a hayride, the bouncy slide, eat hot dogs and nachos and all that good stuff! It was cute. They had their costumes on and looked so cute! They are so much fun!

We ended up coming home with candy, books and little toys. It was fun.

Then, Jason had been invited to his very first "Halloween Party" hosted by his teacher's daughter at the skating rink. It was great! They really went all out on the food and decorations. SO cute. Jason had fun with his friends. He didn't know how to skate, but did pretty great for his first real time to skate!

Some of these photos are of him and his teacher (the M&M Costume) with some of his friends, too!

We can't wait until Wednesday night. We are ALL dressing up to go trick or treating with our pastor's family and our small group from church! They are having us over to their house for a fun Halloween Night Hot Dog Dinner and then we are setting out in their neighborhood to help the kids (15 kids between the 4 couples!) trick or treat!

Our family is going "retro" this year! haha Todd is Beetlejuice, I'm going to be an 80's Pop Star Singer, Jason is a Ghostbuster.......and well....Sarah is a Leopard, which I know isn't really "80's" but she's too cute to change to something else now! The Leopard costume really fits her personality perfectly! SO Sassy!

Enjoy the pics and I'll post more after Halloween!

Love, Sharon
