Another Blog has been born!

These are some photos of Sarah at dance class and Jason dressed up as Cody from The Suite Life of Zach & Cody. Today was "dress like your favorite disney character" day at his school! He looked so cute and almost a perfect match of Cody! haha What was really funny was that his teacher dressed like their Mom from the show and another friend of his was Zach! Great day!
Read below about my newest blogging endeavor!

Hey, everyone!

A new blog is under construction! As many of you know, I LOVE to cook! LOVE it! Love finding recipes, love making menu plans, love creating new ideas and finding unique presentation ideas! You name it, I love it about cooking...........the cleaning up is a different story! haha

I am creating a blog dedicated ONLY to cooking. I will be providing photos and recipes with detailed directions for others who either enjoy cooking or want to take a stab at it! It will be fun to hear from some of you and see if you try some of my recipes. Some of them are old recipes with a new twist. Some are new. Some are borrowed. Some are stolen......just kidding!

I will give credit where it's due to anyone who provides me with a recipe that I use.

The blog site is http://www.cookingwithsharonswan.blogspot.com/

I know................................I should really have a job! haha Oh well, blogging will someday be it, I hope! Maybe I'll be syndicated or something! haha

Love to all!

Spring Break...

Okay guys, this is a big post. We had a whirlwind of a Spring Break. It of course started with Jason's tooth surgery but we ended on a much better note! haha We got to go to Lufkin and visit with some of our family from out of town and it was nice to see everyone and hang out. I was so happy to get to go to lunch with my group of girlfriends that I always used to go to lunch with on Thursday. I wanted to go to lunch with a few other of my friends but didn't feel great on Friday so I took a nap instead. I got sick the last day we were there and felt bad through Easter but I am feeling much better now. On our way home, we had a birthday party to go to in Dallas at the Texas Stadium! It was awesome!!!!! We had free roam of the field where the Dallas Cowboys play, got a party on the sidelines and had a fun tour of the locker rooms! Awesome really isn't a big enough word for this party! Jason LOVED it! Sarah did, too! It's not every day you can take pictures of your kids on the 50 yard line of an NFL field with nobody else around! So great! These are photos from Easter, Spring Break, Football field, etc. Hope you enjoy! Sharon

Today is Easter. Todd and I are both sick but this morning, as I got up to make sure that the Easter Bunny hid the eggs all over the yard, I noticed that some weeds were starting to grow. To some people, that would be a discouraging sight. To me, it reminded me of God's faithfulness that we see in things like the flowers and yes, the weeds returning every year about the same time. Seeing the weeds reassures me that Spring is here and warmer weather is on it's way. Days of playing outside with the kids and going to the park, enjoying the weather and even the pollen and allergies seems like a welcome thing after a long winter. As much as we enjoy the winter and hot cocoa and the 2 times it snowed and bundling up inside, after a while, we are ready to move on to "greener" pastures!
As I looked around the yard this morning, it was around 40 degrees and the wind was blowing so hard. I dreaded the kids going outside to hunt for eggs just knowing that I would also have to go out and follow them with the camera and freeze, too. I noticed that the dandelions hadn't "puffed" out. As the day went on, it got warmer and this afternoon, when I went outside, I noticed they were all huge and puffy! They were standing at attention and tall and reaching to the sky as if they knew today was Easter and praise was in order!

I went into the field behind our house and found one particular dandelion and photographed it. Another one in the front yard to show scale. I found this scripture that I thought was perfect. "Faithfulness will spring up from the ground and righteousness will look down from the sky. Psalm 85:11". I thought it summed up the photograph very well.

Today, on Easter, it's nice to think about God's faithfulness and righteousness that He brings. Knowing that He gave his only begotten son that we may have everlasting life. It's just hard to even contemplate that kind of love. I am so thankful to know that Jesus did not stay in the tomb but arose just as God said He would!

I hope you all have had a Blessed Easter Sunday.
Love, Sharon

Jason's Home

Well, we are home. Jason hasn't done well with the anesthesia. He started throwing up at the dentist's office and continued until we got home. He has gone to sleep and wakes up every little bit sick at his stomach but seems to be doing better now.

Hopefully, he'll be back to normal by tomorrow! I'll update later.

Jason's Tooth Surgery

Today, Jason is having three teeth removed. He will have anesthesia so it should be easier on him and less traumatic. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as he is a little nervous. It is at 8 a.m. We will be home by 10 hopefully. Afterwards, his recovery should be pretty easy. Just soft foods, etc. I am making homemade chicken noodle soup again for him, so he is happy about that. It's one of his favorite things.

I'll post later to let you know how he did.

Love, Sharon
