Snowing in Sherman...

Today, it got colder as the day passed by. However, at 5 p.m., it was still only 38 degrees. On my way home from the pharmacy this afternoon, it started SNOWING! At first, we thought it was just flurries and would melt because it wasn't THAT cold and the ground was really wet from all the rain. We went home, ate dinner, etc. We had the blinds closed because it was pretty chilly with them open and there was a draft. I had them closed all day today and the heater on! After I started getting the kiddos ready for bed, I opened the front door to see if it had snowed anymore and THIS is what I saw! Needless to say, we got them OUT of the bed and ran outside to see the beautiful white blanket of snow! It is beautiful! And COLD! We are really hoping for a "snow day" tomorrow instead of school. I want so badly to build a snowman with my babies for the first time ever! Jason built one once when he was 3 and we went skiing, but he doesn't remember it. They would love it if we went outside and made snow angels and snowmen and had snow-ball fights! Last year, in Lufkin, on Easter weekend, it snowed! That was in APRIL! That was a little wierd but it was so much fun to hunt eggs in the snow. Tonight, these pictures were taken around 9 p.m. and it looks like broad daylight outside! It's so bizarre if you go out and see it...it really looks like daytime!

We are posting photos of the snow tonight, tomorrow will hopefully bring pictures of 2 little blonde kiddos dancing and playing in the glorious white snow! (and their mommy, too! haha)

Enjoy the photos!

Love,Sharon

GOOD MORNING SNOWY WINTER WONDERLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay...........................this morning, it was still here! It wasn't a dream! SNOW! Yea! School is delayed until 10 a.m. The kids and I were in the snow by 6:51 a.m.! We had a blast. It was too powdery to make a snowman. It wouldn't stick together. It would just crumble which was fun in itself. We did make snow angels, though and had a blast! The kids had on 4 layers of clothes so they could hardly move. I found a new trick, though! We put on latex gloves under our gloves. It really worked! My hands were actually sweating they were so warm! Jason's hands weren't hardly cold at all, either! Sarah's hands were too small for the latex gloves, but her mittens kept her nice and warm! We had so much fun and got some great pictures! Hope everyone has a wonderful day! Love, Sharon

Also, I have labeled each photo with a name....hope you enjoy them! :)

Anticipation...This is my favorite picture! Jason got completely dressed and was ready to go and I walked out behind him and he just STOPPED and looked at the snow and said "Look how beautiful it makes everything look!" WOW! What a great moment!

Silly Kids...

Now we're cold............

Time to go inside for hot cocoa and waffles!

Below are some pictures of the yard and trees. There was something so beautiful and peaceful about the blanket of snow in the back yard that we opted not to touch it. We only took pictures. It was beautiful with the sun peaking through onto the white cover over the yard. We played in the front yard so the back yard would still be beautiful. Knowing that it won't be long until the sun starts melting the ice and snow and patches of brown grass and mud will start peaking through but for right now............it was BEAUTIFUL! And peaceful. It made me wish for this one day that we lived in the country on a huge plot of rolling hills.

Hanging out in my room...before going to dance class today....

My friend, Regina, brought a gift by and dropped it off for Sarah today while she was napping.
When she woke up, I told her there was a gift from Miss Regina on her shelf in her room! She
was so happy and went running down the hallway to her room! I managed to catch a few photos of her opening it. Sarah LOVES Miss Regina's baby, Hannah. She talks to her babies all the time
and reads to them and calls one of them "Baby Hannah" all the time. She takes her everywhere
and she got to hold the real baby Hannah last week. Regina brought her a framed picture of the
time she held Baby Hannah! So cute! Thanks, Regina! Sarah LOVED it!

Sorry for the delay! :)

Sorry, everyone! I've been really forgetting to post for the past few days. We've been busy. Sarah & I have had some playdates and stuff going on. We are finally posting a few pics. More to come in the next 24 hours! I've been "redecorating" Sarah's room. Actually, just adding a few touches to what's already there! Also, I'll be spending the day at Jason's school on Friday and plan to get lots of cute pictures there, too! He is in the Jump Rope For Heart program on Friday. He's jumping for Sarah. He's been raising money this week to give to the American Heart Association! So sweet!
Sarah in her Shades.....Miss Hollywood, herself!

She reads stories to her "Baby Hannah" at bedtime! SO sweet!

Jason realizes it really is cold outside! He went to put his hand in the birdbath and found ICE!

Valentine's Week!

Well, it was a great Valentine's! Todd and I opted to stay home on Valentine's Night to be with the kiddos and have dinner. I made homemade spaghetti and parmesean crescent rolls. It was a good night even though Todd had to go back to work for about an hour after dinner. Earlier that day, Sarah and I went to Jason's valentine party at school and she spent the afternoon asking who's birthday it was. Cupcakes can be so confusing! haha She loved the party and had a lot of fun as did Jason. He got a lot of cute valentine's from his friends. They made the most adorable books. The teacher made a picture of each one of them and copied them onto 1 page each and when they got their cards from their friends, they glued them to the page with their picture on it and got them to sign the page. Sort of a Valentine year book. SO cute. On Friday night, Todd and I got a sitter and we went out on a date. I spent all day Friday kind of laying around because I haven't felt that great all week. HORRIBLE headache. I am feeling better today though. The weather is so bad here. Bad rain and flooding this weekend. We've been a bit homebound and I've rested a lot today. Sarah and I took a LONG nap together! It was great. Todd and Jason played games and watched t.v. all day. We ate dinner, rented some movies and plan to do nothing really exciting all weekend. Boy, we're fun, aren't we!? haha Sometimes, you just get worn down, I guess. We went to Birmingham, Alabama last weekend and spent 28 hours traveling over the course of 4 days! WHEW! I'm tired again just thinking about it! haha

Oh well! Tonight, I made hot chocolate for everyone (caffe' mocha for myself) and I did my very first "froth art" and made a heart hot chocolate for Todd! I was so excited it turned out! It's not that great, but I'm going to get better at it. Practice makes perfect!

Okay, folks..........I know you've been dying to see my "Latte' Art"............here it is!!!!
Not great yet, but I'm on my way!!!!!!!!!!!

These are photos from Jason's school party....and art club projects in the hallway at school.

I was pretty impressed by his self-portrait painting! I can't wait for him to bring it home so I can frame it and hang it up! He also made this 3-d house art. I thought it was pretty cool!

Sarah & Jason made the sweetest Valentine's for Todd...

Jason's said "Hearts are Red...Violets are blue...I cannot wait to play video games with you!"
Wednesday Night at church for Jason....

Jason & Sarah had fun opening their cards on Valentine's Morning! Bed-Heads!

Sarah's Valentine Designs... Sarah spent all afternoon making me Valentine's! She just kept cutting up pink and red paper and drawing on it and folding it up and bringing it to me. I of course, folded them ALLL up and put them in a zip lock and labeled them to keep forever! So precious!

Happy 63rd Anniversary, Grandma & Grandpa!

Today was my Grands' 63rd Wedding Anniversary! I call them my "Grands" because to me, they are "Grand"! I love seeing them together. I love how much they love each other. It's not an anniversary of just being able to stand each other for 63 years or that they just didn't believe in ever going their own ways, but a celebration of 63 years of their tried and TRUE love! Love that has withstood the test of time and continues on! They still hold hands........I think that's GRAND! They are two of the most precious people I know and I say that not only because they are mine, but because they are just ........well.........precious! Darling! Sweet!

Please watch this smilebox slideshow of them and some of the days gone by and see what true love looks like through my eyes. I see them and I hope not only for my life to be as sweet as theirs when I'm their age, but for my children and children's children to also inherit this love legacy that they have so wonderfully laid before us.

I am not saying that every single day of their life has been filled with hand holding and blowing kisses..........but there have been more days like that than not. Everyone is human and has those days when you have a spat or argument......the important thing is to not let it become EVERY day. They have done a wonderful job of that. They have strived to show us all their "imperfections" so that we know what they have is attainable to us, too.

So, on this 13th day of February, I wish THEM a HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!!!!!! I know...odd that it isn't on Valentine's Day.........Once I asked my Grandpa why they didn't get married on Valentine's Day and he simply said "I couldn't wait another day!"

Happy Valentine's to you all and to the two truest Valentines I know...My Grands!

Love, Sharon
